Providing outstanding health care—and fighting for health equity
The Institute for Family Health is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality health care—regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, immigration status, disability, insurance, or ability to pay. We also advocate at the local, state, and national level for a more just and equitable health care system for all.
With support from generous donors like you, over the past year we:
- Provided nearly 500,000 medical, behavioral health and dental visits to more than 100,000 New Yorkers in need, including immigrants and asylum seekers;
- Collaborated with New York State on efforts to place more emphasis on addressing individuals’ essential social needs, such as food, housing and transportation;
- Enhanced our mental health services, including strengthening substance use treatment efforts.
Your support is essential to this work. In the coming year, we will continue to fight for health equity in New York, including by advocating for improvements to Medicaid; and tackling the shortage of health care providers practicing in underserved communities through our training programs.
